3D PRINTING

3D printing is a technology where a three-dimensional model is built by extruding, depositing and accumulating successive layers of melted thermoplastic material. Toys, mobile phone case, sculptures, decorative objects or even shoes are domestic objects which can be made this way. In industrial applications prototypes, car parts, tools, musical instruments, scale models and even jewellery can be created. In the health area it is now possible to create tailored prosthesis at very competitive prices.

The most commonly used materials in the 3D printers are Nylon or PLA, a biopolymer from renewable sources. The filaments, normally sold in different colours and thicknesses of 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm, are supplied on reels ready for use in the printers and, once inserted initiate the printing of the objects.

Filkemp was the first major filaments producer to enter the 3D industry and deliver added value through decades of experience in producing various types of filaments. Therefore we offer special lubrication and stretching technology at the point of production. This manufacturing process, exclusive to Filkemp, guarantees the production of the highest quality filaments, able to guarantee continuous printing for the end user with very low humidity absorption.

PLAN

PLA N is a biopolymer which is ideal for tools, prototypes and industrial applications in general. Possessing superior mechanical and thermal resistance, this filament is resistant to high temperatures of up to 160 °C after having been through the “annealing” process. This allows for high resistance pieces which can be machined. The “annealing” process can be carried out for 10 to 15 minutes in boiling water or in an oven at temperatures of 100-110 °C.

PET G

PETG is a user-friendly filament as it is easily printed. At speeds 20% higher than PLA it benefits from excellent thermal stability, so allowing for the printing of transparent objects with excellent thermal and mechanical resistance. Particularly recommended for schools and universities due to its easy and problem free printing performance.

NYLON

Filkemp Nylon is the first low temperature nylon developed to be extruded at 230 °C with rapid cooling. This material is ideal for industrial modelling and prototyping, and enables the production of objects with characteristics similar to the ones created through injection moulding, such as durability, impact resistance with high thermal durability. The pre-lubricated Filkemp Nylon™, with its exclusive lubricating technology, allows for easy printing with no stoppages.
